Operations
& Training Officer
The EMA Operations and Training Officer plans staff
training programs and monitors EMA equipment to ensure
preparedness in the event of an emergency.
The essential duties of the Operations & Training
Officer are:
- Assess
training needs, set up training programs and keep
the appropriate records of training provided to EMA
volunteer staff.
- Assist
the County Coordinator in establishing training programs
for Municipal EMA Coordinators and their heads of
government.
- Assist
with developing and maintaining a list of EMA volunteers.
- Assist
the County Coordinator directing a volunteer staff
response to local emergencies involving EMA.
- Monitor
IFLOWS (flood warning) and the PA STARS (PEMA) computers
for emergency information affecting Columbia County.
- Develop
and coordinate the delivery of outreach training programs
for schools, municipalities and special needs facilities.
- Assist
in administering the Act 147 (Radiation) and Act 165
(Hazardous Materials) grants.
