AGENDA ITEMS:
2011 LEPC Meeting Dates: April 11, July 11, October 11
LEPC Elections Held: Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, PIO elected for a two year term
Tier II: Letters & invoices were sent to 50 county facilities.
An attempt will be made to identify gas well companies operating in Columbia County in order to make sure they know chemical reporting requirements.
Training- The LEPC will sponsored a Haz Mat R&I refresher class and an Operations refresher class during 2011.
Contact will be established with the county contracted haz mat team to identify training courses they may be able to provide local emergency responders.
A fact sheet on PEMA Circular C2010-08 "Fuel Spills" was prepared and forwarded to municipal elected officials, raod masters and fire chief's.
Community Outreach: Haz mat brochures will continue to be made available at EMA's (50) distribution points located throughout the county.
Consideration will be made to possibly submitt a community outreach advertisement again this year in the local newspaper.
The LEPC PIO will continue to explore public speaking opportunities
Financial Commitments: The LEPC approved expenditures for public education / community outreach, emergency response and administration for 2011.
Haz Mat Response: The county haz mat team was dispatched to the Buckhorn Truck Plaza on January 7, 2011 for a nitrogen leak.
Open Discussion: An inquiry was made by a LEPC member concerning the expansion of the White Pines landfill in Greenwood Township. While this is not an LEPC matter calls will be made by EMA to DEP and the Greenwood Township Supervisors requesting information.
