OLD BUSINESS:
2008 Community Outreach Project - Quarter page ads were placed in the Press Enterprise on May 17th and May 25, 2008. The theme of this year's project was the need to register community resources in case of a disaster emergency
LEPC Membership - the need has arised to recruit new members if this committee is to remain effective.
Tier II Reporting - A total of 60 facilities filed reports during 2007 - total number of chemicals reported was 207 with 47 being classified as extremely hazardous - 26 off site emergency response plans were prepared
NEW BUSINESS:
2008-09 HMRF Grant - was applied for to offset LEPC administrative costs, to support community outreach projects and to help maintain an acceptable hazardous materials response capability
Hazardous Materials Contract - a new contract was signed with the Minuteman Spill Response Company of Mifflinville on June 16, 2008 to provide Columbia County with hazardous materials response coverage as required by Pennsylvania Act 165
DOT Hazardous Materials Guidebooks - 280 guidebooks have been received from PEMA and are being distributed to county emergency response organizations
