Community
Emergency Response Training (C.E.R.T).
If a disaster were to devastate your community and emergency
resources are overwhelmed and help IS NOT on the way,
are you prepared to care for yourself, your family and
provide assistance to your neighbors?
-
Do you know how to assess an emergency scene?
- Do
you know what equipment you should have on hand to
protect yourself?
- Do
you know how to administer first aid and possibly
save a life?
- Do
you know how to prevent a minor situation from becoming
a major one?
- Are
you absolutely confident that you would be part of
the solution?
- If
you answered "no" to any of these questions then C.E.R.T.
training is for you
What C.E.R.T. is:
- Training
that is recommended by the President of the United
States for every American adult.
- It
is a program designed for ordinary citizens who would
be willing to help members of their family and community
during a major disaster.
- Provides
training in BASIC emergency skills.
- Information
that would reduce stress and confusion during a disaster.
- A
program designed to make participants a valuable asset
to their family and community during a disaster emergency.
What C.E.R.T. is not:
-
It is not a replacement for your local emergency services.
- It
does not qualify you to be a firefighter, police officer
or EMT.
- You
will not be called or activated during an emergency.
- It
doesn't give you any specific authority.
