September 19, 2004 - Rains from the remnants of Hurricane Ivan caused the Susquehanna River to flood in Columbia County. The river crested at 27.1 feet. The flood stage in Bloomsburg is 19 feet.
Columbia County was included in a Presidential Disaster Declaration. Residents and municipalities received $578,278 in federal aid.
April 4, 2005 - Heavy rains compounded by snow melt near the New York boarder caused the Susquehanna River to flood in Columbia County. The river crested at 25.1 .

June 28, 2006 - Heavy rains caused small stream and river flooding. Many local creeks and small streams topped their banks and the Susquehanna River crested at 28.6 feet in Bloomsburg. This was the worst flooding event to hit Columbia County since Hurricane Agnes in June 1972.
Columbia County was included in a Presidential Disaster Declaration. Residents and municipalities have received approximately $5,400,000 in aid .
FEMA has provided over six million dollars in aid to Columbia County residents and municipalities as a result of damages caused by these three storms. This assistance was substantial but it was only a portion of the actual damage. The rest was covered by low interest SBA loans, flood insurance or absorbed as a loss by those who didn't have flood insurance.
